Talented Santa Barbara County area classical vocal and instrumental students take part in the Performing Arts Scholarship Foundation Annual Competition. The finalists gather each year at the Fess Parker Doubletree Resort to strut their stuff and vie for a chance to win some serious money to help with their studies. This year a strong showing was made by 9 very promising competitors and the winners were:
2016 Vocal Division winners: (L-R) 1st Prize, Molly Clementz (mezzo-soprano), 2nd Prize, Joanna Lynn-Jacobs (mezzo-soprano), 3rd Prize, Juliet Powar (soprano).
2016 Instrument Division winners: (L-R) 4th Prize, Erik Fauss (viola), 3rd Prize, Lalia Mangione (violin), 2nd Prize, Connor Rowe (trombone) and 1st Prize, Catherine Marshall (flute).
