As part of DANCEWORKS Santa Barbara’s celebration of its 10th Anniversary we take some quick looks at past residencies by all the noted choreographers who have taken part in its innovative month-long program which gives dancers and choreographers a place and the time to create a new work. This video snapshot is from the Brian Brooks Moving Company residency in 2012. The 10th residency starts today with critically acclaimed choreographer Doug Elkins and his dancers returning to the Lobero Theatre to create a new piece based on Japanese philosophy and art entitled “Kintsugi.” Don’t miss out on the final festivities Sept. 7 & 8, featuring the premiere of Doug’s piece and appearances by DANCWORKS alumni, get your tickets now at lobero.com or phone the Lobero Theatre box office at 805•963•0761. More snapshots of past residencies to come!
