Among the many wonderful things the UCSB Arts & lectures vibrant and extensive outreach programs provide are “get to know the artist” demonstrations, masterclasses and workshops for students of all ages in the Santa Barbara area. Recent examples include the Danish String Quartet at Monroe Elementary School, members of A Far Cry working with young musicians of Santa Barbara Strings and an intensive workshop with Snarky Puppy bassist and band leader Michael League for the UCSB Music Department’s Jazz students. This is good stuff and a big gift to those lucky enough to learn from top performers and public figures, and to the betterment of the community.
