First you need to be a great talent like David Crosby, then you need fresh new material and an injection of youthful energy. Mr. Crosby has al that working in his favor for his latest venture, “Here If You Listen.” He has a long history of being part of wildly successful collaborative groupings, most notably the CSN and CSNY franchises, and he has written some of the most memorable songs in the American folk/rock/pop songbook, so he had a pretty good head start when he got together The Lighthouse Band – Michael League, Becca Stevens, and Michelle Willis. The November 8 “David Crosby and Friends” Lobero show to support their new release was chock full of delightfully quirky songs and commentary, superb musicianship and a ton of achingly good harmony vocals, featuring a variety of compositions by Mr. C and his band mates, plus more than a few of the hits that made David Crosby a superstar. Old dogs can have a lot of fun, especially if there are super nice (and talented) puppies to play with.
