Halloween Camp-ing Trip

What better way to celebrate All Hallows Eve than with a bunch goth clad transvestites, aliens, proto-punks, a Dr. Frank N. Furter created muscle man and a goofily nerdy young couple. Mix in some rock ‘n roll, sex, a little blood, guts and ray guns, and you’ve got “The Rocky Horror Show.” Little did out-of-work English actor Richard O’Brien know that his 1973 send up of schlock horror and Sci-Fi films, and fifties muscleman and music, all with a 70’s glam rock aesthetic, would spawn a cult tradition and the longest-running film release in history. Samantha Eve’s Out of the Box Theater Company’s production, which opened Halloween night, was a rollicking affair, superbly over the top and as campy as could be.
