Erstwhile ballroom dancing stars Anna and Henry put in a lot of hard work to learn new steps and move together in perfect synchronization, but their personal lives are all over the map. Henry’s got his mother and his consuming passion to rise up out of the abattoir. Anna has a fiancé and a romantic involvement with a handsome intellectual. Will her budding feminism which gave her the gumption to answer Henry’s ad and then get ideas of her own about their “career” keep love from blooming between her and Henry? It’s all a delightful dance/drama played out on the stage of New Vic, with beautifully realized costumes, scenery and lighting and some mighty fine acting, dancing, directing and choreography.
