The world’s best cover band? Well, as The Immediate Family’s bassist Leland Sklar pointed out, they are the only cover band that plays all original material. Consisting of 5 of the most renowned session musicians who have worked with many of the biggest names in the biz, guiding light Danny Krotchmar and bandmates Steve Postell and Waddy Wachtel also happen to be superb songwriters, composers and producers, and they can sing pretty darn well too. All of which makes it a cinch they can lay claim to that title, now that this “super group” is performing the gems they’ve written for others over the years. Their appearance at the Lobero Theatre April 2nd was pure unadulterated rock ‘n roll featuring one short and sweet song after another filled with amazing guitar riffs galore, a rock solid backbeat courtesy of Russ Kunkel and Sklar’s fluid, snaking bass lines.
