DANCEWORKS Santa Barbara’s 10th Anniversary celebration features critically acclaimed choreographer Doug Elkins and his dancers returning to the Lobero Theatre to create a new piece based on Japanese philosophy and art entitled “Kintsugi.” As an added bonus, the premiere performances of this exciting new work will be followed by solo works by all the noted choreographers who have taken part in this innovative month-long program which gives choreographers and their dancers a place and the time to create a new work. This video snapshot is from the Mark Dendy Projects 2014 residency and performance of their stunning creation “Dystopian Distractions.” Be there when the final festivities take place Sept. 7 & 8, featuring the premiere of “Kintsugi” and appearances by DANCWORKS alumni.
