A stage full of young talent

From humble beginnings as an ensemble run by high school students in 1963 to a full orchestra today, the Santa Barbara Youth Symphony has provided the opportunity for young musicians aged 12 to 18 to perform challenging classical and other works. Under the direction of the indefatigable Andy Radford, the first concert of the 2016-17 season featured over 80 young musicians filling the stage of the Lobero Theatre and filling the house with the music of Richard Meyer, Pablo de Sarasate, Moussorgsky and Brahms.
