The DANCEWORKS welcome party, which is now a tradition, is an opportunity for donors and board members to meet the choreographer and dancers who are creating a new dance piece during their 4 week residency at the Lobero Theatre. The venue this time was DANCEWORKS driving force Dianne Vapnek’s beautiful gardens at her and husband Dan’s residence. Polymath dynamo Doug Elkins held forth in his trademark witty/philosophical style talking about his new work “Kintsugi” and a trip to Japan, one highlight of which was a drag show about Nazis featuring an all female cast. Delicious treats, cooling beverages and a grand time was had by all in attendance.
