American Dance & Music has a new home at 14 E. Victoria Street, the Dance Hub, and construction has begun following a glorious fundraiser in the space that will be a community center for dance, theater and music. There was great food and drink and performances by AD&M Performance Group’s Melody Collins & Nathan Cottam, Ellen Pasternak’s Egyptian scarf dance, Hannah Ruth Brothers danced her fast and furious “Movin’ for Miles,” and a reading by DramaDogs Theater Company’s Ken Gilbert & E. Bonnie Lewis of a piece they wrote. The evening wound up up with everyone joining the World Dance for Humanity group, founded and led by Janet Reineck, for a let loose and boogie good time.
When it opens, AD&M, DramaDogs Theater Company and Ken Gilbert’s Embodyment Classes will be the core tenants of this large and completely renovated space. It will also be available to other dance teachers and groups in need of a space to spread their arts to the community. Congrats to AD&M founders Carrie Diamond and husband Eric Valinsky!
