The acoustics of the Old Mission in Santa Barbara are perfect for the polyphonic singing of the Ensemble Basiani of Georgia and their concert there was achingly beautiful, sublime and, at times, quite spirited. For anyone unfamiliar with Georgian folk music, this was a rare treat that can’t be equalled by any recording, and if you missed it, get hold of a recording or head for Youtube.
