Mark O’Conner stopped by the Lobero Theatre last Saturday for a night of fiddle heaven. Soloing on his first “real” violin (autographed by greats like Stephan Garapelli and many others), going thru a brief history of Irish fiddle music with virtuoso wife Maggie, and rounding out the show with some Hot Swing joined by long-time collaborator master guitarist Frank Vignola and exuberant vocalist Tamar Korn. O’Conner is a master of many styles, from bluegrass to classical, and this show ranged from achingly beautiful to foot stomping and humorous. What a treat!
