It’s a long-standing tradition in theatrical productions for a director or choreographer to take notes during run throughs and then “give” them to the actors or dancers. All about refining and honing, it usually occurs near the end of the rehearsal process when all the scenes or parts are pretty much finished, ironing out rough spots, correcting mistakes and making changes to get it just right.
