HIGHLIGHTS FROM SPRING '08 included:__Chick Corea, Bobby McFerrin and Jack DeJohnette brought non-stop jazz improvising to new heights at the new Granada Theater._ Genesis West's provocative and eerie production of "Pillowman." _Arlo Guthrie's Reunion Solo Tour was a witty trip down memory lane–by motorcycle.__Folk legend Mike Seeger held the Lobero audience captive with his mini history lesson on American Roots music; if only all education were so beautiful to listen to! _Eiko & Koma transformed the stage at UCSB's Campbell Hall into a forest for a mesmerizing slow-motion tour-de-force; the strangest dance peice I've ever seen.__Parsons Dance's exhilarating show at the Lobero featured a red-hot tribute to Milton Nasciemento.__A latin dance party with the imcomparable Lila Downs at Campbell Hall.__Lit Moon Theater's (sort of) Pop Musical madness showed a new side of one of the most innovative theater companies on the west coast.__Marilyn Horne and Barbara Cook proved they still have what it takes to bring an audience to its feet!__State Street Ballet joined forces with the Santa Barbara Choral Society for a rousing performance of "Carmina Burana" at the Granada.__The Music Academy of the West got off to a fine start to it's 61st Summer Festival with a beautiful new performance space: Hahn Hall. and so much more...
